November 2007October Chamber Meeting ReportThe Chamber met with 21 in attendance. October is our cook-off and the dish of choice had to be a "chicken" dish. For those of you who didn't make the meeting, it was certainly the most delicious one of the year! Chicken salads, Parmesan, casseroles, stir fries, soup, wings & a few deviled eggs for good measure. Winner of the cook-off was a great casserole brought by Melissa Headly Smith, new member. Melissa & her husband, Sammy, operate Buckingham Furniture Repair and Restoration. After a brief business meeting, the group adjourned to a new feature - Show & Tell. Three members were invited to show their wares. Hank Hagenau gave us information on the various items he constructs for showing horses. His business is Silk Tree Manufacturing & he also does metal sculpture. Nan Holt, of Dog Art, had beautiful slate pictures of wildlife in addition to various breeds of dog portraits painted on purses, jewelry boxes & bracelets. A highlight for several members was Melissa Louis, The Spa at Maysville, who brought her chair and gave back & neck massages. This new feature is a great way to bring attention to your products and services. If you would like to participate in Show & Tell, please contact Faye Shumaker at 983-4326.
