June Meeting Report

The Chamber met on Tues, June 19 at the Rescue Squad building with 21 people present. The meeting was called to order by Pres, Patti Throckmorton. The Speaker was Tom Gallagher, President of the Better Business Bureau of Central VA. He shared that they have 22 members on staff and gave a presentation on how they began. He then told us how the BBB spends much time dealing with "elderscams" It seems that often the children of elderly parents take money and belongings from their parents and in other cases, the elderly are often so lonely that they are vulnerable to scam repair people. We appreciated Mr Gallagher's comments & he designated his honorarium check to be given to the BBB Foundation.

Website Work In Progress

Slogan needed. How about coming up with a 4 to 8 word slogan about the Chamber that can be placed near the top of our home page? It can be something that we strive for or something we are currently accomplishing. Everyone's input is welcome.

Do You See What I See?

Adopt the philosophy of Ray Kroc and Walt Disney that people will never see your business when it needs to be cleaned, painted, scrubbed or fixed. Remember the power of first impressions.
