January Meeting Report

The Chamber held it's annual Awards Banquet Jan 15 at Cactus Jax in Arvonia. Mark Giles, President of Virginia National Bank was the after dinner speaker. Thanks to Margaret & Harold Collins and Ryan Taylor our Silent Auction was a success. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of our Award winners.

The Volunteers of 2005 are Joe & Mary Gemski. Their names were submitted by Helen Saxon. Joe and Mary have been active in so many facets of the community & we are fortunate to have them involved with the Chamber.

The Buckingham Achievement Award was given to Bill Davis, President of the Buckingham Co Rescue Squad Auxiliary. He has raised over $80k through the memorial & honorary brick sales for the wall at the Squad Building. Bill's name was submitted by H V Ellis. The Chamber will purchase 2 bricks to honor these great people.
