November Meeting Report

The Chamber met Tuesday, Nov 21st at the Rescue Squad building. Vice-President, Patti Throckmorton called the meeting to order. After introductions & the Treasurer's report, Jewel Harris gave a report on the Holiday House Tour. Sandra Moss shared information about the January Awards Banquet and encouraged everyone to nominate a volunteer or a person for the Achievement Award. Hank Hagenau spoke briefly on the County Planning Commission's questionnaire.

The speaker for the evening was Mr Will Deane, Chair of the newly proposed park in Dillwyn. Mr Deane shared that the Town has set the 9 acres aside for this purpose and the executive committee has been appointed. The different facets of the park have been mapped out with time lines for each one.

Second Annual Christmas House Tour Successful!

100 people toured 8 beautifully decorated homes. Wiley Allen served as our able bus driver again this year and thanks go out to Mr Larry Massie, Supt of Schools, who allowed a school bus to be used for this community event. Plans are to tour the area north of Dillwyn next year, so suggestions of homes are welcome.

Congratulations BNN

The first major project of the newly formed Buckingham Neighbors Network was a big success! Under the direction of President, Patti Throckmorton, gifts for Heritage Hall residents were collected under the catch phrase Ð Sweats for Seniors. See the feature article in the January issue of the Buckingham Beacon.

AtWork Personnel

Thanks to Marty & Randy Martin& Carson Butwin for hosting a delicious dinner for the Chamber Board in December.
