The Farmer's Market was discussed, as were the problems that markets all over the Common-wealth are facing when they wish to serve food Teresa Lowery from the Farmville Herald reviewed the Spring Fling promotion. Chamber Charlie was unveiled! Chamber Charlie is the Anti-Litter character that we would like to become well known all over the county saying “Thank You For Not Littering. Marie Hill, of Roger Hill Insurance came up with the suggestion and Chamber Charlie was the brainchild of Sandra Moss and Melanie Farrish. NEW MEMBERSA-Plus Bookkeeping & Tax Service Bobby's Lawn Care Teresa Lynn Collection, LLC Spring FlingTeresa Lowery, ad specialist with the Farmville Herald deserves applause for her hard work in compiling the Spring Fling Ad. 45 advertisers made this a great attention-getter for the Chamber and the individual businesses. Also thanks to those who took the 2 for 1 ad offer with WBNN. You Can Make A Difference!You Can Make A Difference With Chamber Charlie! If you are a retail merchant & would like to see your community become a cleaner place, join in a new Chamber project - Thank You For Not Littering ! If you have an outdoor billboard, please put the slogan on one side for the remainder of April. If you would like a Chamber Charlie poster, please call 983-2372 & we'll get it out to you. Farmers' MarketThe Farmers' Market, which is sponsored by the Chamber, is planning to open May 6th. Don't miss the market at the new location next to the Dillwyn Pharmacy. The market is an excellent opportunity for local bakers, crafters & growers to sell to the community. Family Fridays will continue With music, Cake Auction for CrimeSolvers & the Annual Pet Contest. Any interested vendor should contact Market Manager, Marty Martin at 983-5366. New County Map Plans Moving ForwardIn conjunction with Historic Buckingham & Jamestown 2007, the Chamber is working on a 4-color map of the county that will contain Historic Sites, New Road Names & Road Numbers. The Jamestown 2007 group, in partnership with the Chamber has enlisted Dan Curren of All American Publications to assist with this project. The Chamber may offer limited space on the new map for one hundred business listings with phone numbers, in order to help finance the map. These spaces will be offered to Chamber members first. 5000 copies will be available. Stay tuned !
