(You can see what Carson has to offer each week at the Buckingham Farmers' Market.) New attendees were Jim Garrett and Scott Chidester of Kinex Networking Solutions were present. Also Supervisor Bobby Jones of New Canton. Carson, Jim & Bobby were all given an opportunity to speak.

Hank Hagenau gave the monthly Planning Commission report with comments about the upcoming public hearing on the proposed Westvaco chipping facility.

Marty Martin, Manager of the Farmers Market led a discussion on attracting more people to the market. Signage, Balloons, Posters, Radio Commercials all were discussed. Supervisor Jones said he would address getting Industrial Park Signs at Intersections of Rt 15 & Rt 60 and also at Rt 15 and Rt 20.

Dinner was from Subway with outstanding desserts from Helen Saxon.

Early Start on Grandparent's Contest

With so many deserving grandparents in our county, we want to advertise our Buckingham's Best Grandparents Contest during the summer while students are on vacation.

Encourage any grandchildren (of any age) to write a one page essay on why their grandparent deserves to be chosen. Grandparent must be a resident of Buckingham.

Farmers' Market

Every Friday (rain or shine) at the Buckingham Industrial Park just behind Farmers' Bank on Rt 1003. From 3:30 until dusk. On sale so far this season - squash, zucchini, Swiss Chard, radishes, cherries, broccoli. Much more to come. Don't miss the market!

Amazing Facts & Figures
By Dr Donald E Westmore

The average person is interrupted once every 8 minutes, or approximately 50-60 times per day. 80% of those interruptions are typically rated as little value or no value causing approximately 3 hours of wasted time per day.

A person who works with a messy or cluttered desk spends, on average 1 ½ hours per day looking for things, or being distracted by things. This adds up to approximately 7 1/2 hours per workweek.

The average person today receives more information on a daily basis, than the average person received in a lifetime 100 years ago.

Thanks to Supervisor Bobby Jones

After our May meeting, Supervisor Jones had bumper stickers made and donated 500 of them to the Chamber to distribute. "Buckingham Farmers' Market Visit on Friday Afternoon" This is a great example of a member who sees a need and steps up to the plate to help.
