Buckingham County is bounded by the scenic James River in the center of the beautiful State of Virginia and is comprised of Buckingham Courthouse, the Town of Dillwyn, and areas such as Andersonville, Arvonia, Glenmore, New Canton, and others.
Buckingham County is home to a wide variety of retail and commercial businesses, outstanding educational opportunities can be found in our neighboring county with Longwood University, Hampden-Sydney College, Southside Virginia Community College and Piedmont Community College, and it offers a warm friendly, community spirit and safe nurturing environment to live. Buckingham County is also home to numerous historical sites. It contains the picturesque James River State Park and Buckingham Historic Village on Rt 60 at the Robert E Lee Wayside, and Holliday Lake Park is nearby in neighboring Appomattox County. With so much to offer Buckingham County is the place to be!
The Buckingham Chamber of Commerce is proud to be Buckingham’s premiere business organization with 165 members. The Chamber currently offers annual events such as Buckingham’s Best Grandparents Contest, Volunteer of the Year & Lifetime Achievement Awards, the Annual Christmas House Tour, and in 2007 the Chamber is holding its 1st Car Show. Chamber meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month with outstanding speakers at each meeting. A monthly newsletter goes out to all members with the location of the meeting, along with program and meal information. Chamber dues are only $35 per year with the expectation that all businesses will join together as the County grows.
